Surely , you're not serious . Almost every state DVM has their CDL manual online or you can pick it up at the office . What would possibly be worth paying for ?

I'm taking a 5 week class at a school that offers a high amount of seat time. I've been driving since the second day of class and have been on 3 road trips in the first 2 weeks. I'm pretty comfortable with all the written stuff...and even the obstacle course stuff...but put me behind the wheel out on the road with the lives of 2-3 other people in my hands and I tend to be a bit tense.
Driving School is the ONLY thing I would recommend...the longer the better. -
I just can't fit a school in my current job. Is there a way to complete the classes at home and then take the road portion?
-
Yes....do the written.
Rent a truck for the road test. And PREY you don't run over anything.
Of course, finding a job afterwards (provided you get a CDL) will be next to impossible. Especially since you will be required to show a certificate of completion by the majority of companies. -
I was thinking of buying own truck and haul gravel here local.

The written is a no brainer. -
See if you think you need any more than this . The toughest part will probably be doing the pretest .

thanks, I'll call local driving school about the skills test. My only concern will be cost of insurance. I think alot of people here go with Progressive. I'm making a big career change and cut in salary. I found out money is not everything.
A big paper mill will re-open soon and maybe looking into logging also. Seems like a log trailer is cheaper than a dump trailer. -
How are you going to learn to drive a truck over the internet? Mabey they'll let you do your road test on the internet and perhaps you could get a job driving an truck on the internet hauling e-mails.
