    Raising the load decreases the bandwidth and increases the Q while slightly decreasing the length of the whip.

    It's an excellent design and very durable and very narrow banded but it doesn't handle much power but they're really cheap.

    i didn't catch a brand name or model but I'm gathering a top loaded fiberglass. Silverload comes to mind. with that antenna the decrease in trash noise i always assumed it was from the attenuation the pvc jacket cause

    Im guessing better qualty coax and more efficient ground plane compared to these new trucks.

    I think you're right about the jacket attenuating some of the noise so when I built this one I covered the whole thing with shrink tube.

    Doesnt look as flexible as the Hustler, I know when I used it on a Cascadia it swayed back pretty significant, almost too much.

    Remember I only run legal 4 watts ( mud duck club) too much power is not an issue.
