That was my very first car, a 67 chevelle. Some little old lady on my paper route sold it to me when I was 13 yrs old. My dad was in the hospital at the time, when he came home and wanted to know who's car that was in the drive way. I will just say, that did not go over to well with him. :biggrin_25523: Needless to say, I sold it to a neighbor down the street who raced them in hales corner and I got to help strip the car out for a rollcage to be put in it.:biggrin_2553:

LOL Man talk about stirring up memories!
I had a 1962 Ford Falcon, nicknamed "The Flaming Red Falcon". Four door, red & red, 170 C.I. six, and the usual three on the tree. Think that is the only vehicle I was unable to destroy, it was almost bulletproof.

Almost Bulletproof? How did you find that one out. Might be interesting to read here. We painted my Falcon Green like a Mountain Dew can, and then Mountain Dew sponsored me, I should say Ours, the Pit crew went in with me on it. 4 guys from the Base. They did all the work on it in the Hobby shop. Those were fun days.

So let me get this straight. A college says that this degree is hot. You will get a high paying job with it. After you get it you find out that the jobs are good but because of something you did you can't get hired. Sound like your own dumb fault for not checking out the job market for the career you wanted. Would you try to be cop if you had been to jail for murder?

A cop No, A truck driver yes! You see this very picky attitude just came along in the last 8 months.

The face of a truck driver is seriously changing. This change has just about happened over night. Not being in the industry would not allow someone to see these changes. That being said it is the schools job to not only understand the industry but to place people who fit that image.

This would not be in question if the school had not pulled the drivers record looked at it at then said "sure we can place you without a problem, Just pay here"

His own dumb luck is that his ticket will roll off in 4 months. Now he has to wait until it does.

A cop no, A trucker Maybe.

Point is don't try to get a job in a field you are not qualified for. Any one with any brains would think that to get a job DRIVING. One should not have show a serious lack of judgment in that area. 25 over, serious lack of judgment in driving.

You know this is not even about me. The arrogance of some of the drivers in here is obsurd.

The topic is questions from new drivers. Then you get one or two jerks who probably had a rough day on the road come on here and judge.

The guy asked a question. Not to be judged.

Ryan, I appoigize not all Drivers are so high on themselves to believe that they are the only good driver out there.

I only hope that if and when they make a mistake they are not tossed aside because of it.

Ryan, Wait 4 months then apply again.

Good luck driver and Hammer Down! :)

Is speeding tickets the one that detracts the most from a company considering you viable?

I have a near 2 year old 'failed to stop all the way at a stop sign' violation. (No points) I literally went down to 2mph and then went on my way, and LORDY was that cop lady handing them out that day! I came back and she had someone else pulled over in the same spot!

I'm sure it's not crippling, but was curious.

Going to have to watch it on my motorcycle this summer. >_<

Are you speaking from personal experience ? I had a "must appear " speeding ticket reduced to a non-moving violation before the court date . Might be a good topic for another thread to see if anybody found they weren't worth the money . Now if you've already had 4 or 5 tickets they may not be able to help you .
