    Hi Guys,

With companies like Google and Waymo testing Autonomous cars quite a lot, it is only a matter of time till these are unveiled to the mass public. Although fully autonomous vehicles seem like they won't make it out in the near future semi-autonomous vehicles will surely become mainstream in the next 5-10 years. I am a master's student in Automotive Technology. I am doing some research on the acceptance of autonomous systems by truck drivers. For this research, I have a survey which has a few questions that need to be answered. It would be really helpful if you could fill out this survey that takes only 5-8 minutes. Thanks for the taking the time to read my post :)

    No survey needed.

Just avoid owning them. Once the robot vehicles go through killing people hurting people, getting stranded in all kinds of places particularly with weather and so forth if you have not burned the vehicle yourself you would be a saint.

We already have them around here there and yonder. They do come into the news now and then when they hurt, kill or otherwise destruct themselves or something else.

Cannot be worse than the typical flip flop vaping drivers walking about our truckstops. They do a certain amount of damage too until they either learn not to, or are eliminated from the Industry.

I leave you with another thought. Devils Advocate. Any time you deploy something fancy, over engineered so that my grandma will be a wagon... I enjoy coming up with any number of faults we will run into with that pile of futuristic crap. We are already there. Teslas immolate themselves at any time, automatic cars kill a pedestrian now and then and other issues get into our media with some regularly.

I go the other way, the rest of my life will be with older vehicles. Hardly a computer in it. Or just enough of one to mix the fuel and air correctly if I don't already drop a 350 carburated crate V8 into there and toss the electronics and emissions already. Half tempted to do that.

What everyone on the Automated Vehicle band wagon is missing is the huge White Elephant in the room. that is the need to have highways with proper markings and upgraded infrastructure. Virtually all governments are crying now that they have no money. Who is going to pay for all the upgrades and possibly new roads that will be required.

Don't care what any study says.
    Wait for the lawsuits.

    It's on most people's mind.
I bet the millennials will pay big money for carburated vehicles soon. Perhaps steampunk will be the norm soon.

    Autonomous equals big lawsuits.
