Looks kinda cheap. What's with the silver spots on the pawl where it contacts with the teeth? Looks like the metal is bending and thus the paint is starting to flake away ... Ouch.

Hope it lasts longer than it looks like it will. I always wanted to get a ratcheting winch bar every time I hauled slinkeys. Never hauled slinkeys enough to justify buying one though.

    Good luck.

Good question on the silver spots. I'll have to look at it a little further tomorrow and see. Seems like it actually made pretty solid though...

I'll give it a run on a couple loads this week and report back...

It is a good price. They are usually $60-80?

Ok, this was my first time seeing it. Had it of been any more than the $45 I paid, probably wouldn't have gotten it.

Kinedyne used to make a really good one. I've had mine for about 6 years now and keep a close eye on it since they are no longer made. The ratchet mechanism on the Kinedyne is the same as a ratchet binder and pretty unbreakable. Has storage for a spare pin on the side. Came with 2 but I lost one. They stopped making them a year or 2 ago. My buddy had one for a while but had a door open while he was driving and lost it. He even tried calling Kinedyne direct to see if they had anymore and found out that they stopped making them.

After years of using one I am just as fast as using a normal bar.

@Razororange I have this same one. I didn't realize it was now an obsolete item. I reckon I'll clean, oil and put it in a secure place....LoL

Was kind of wondering how long it was gonna take for the flatbed world to catch up. Of course flatbed straps need to be tighter than wheel straps so I can kind of see them not being quick to add ratchets.

I used one like the original poster. It worked fine but the pin kept getting jammed in and was being difficult to remove. Eventually became a hassle.

Side note, tri city is awesome. They let me in where they make the tarps so I can feel the difference between 13, 18oz vinyl, 10, 13oz nylon coated, and parachute material.

That looks like one I bought a dozen or so years ago...use it once...and parked it in the garage.
