Detroit made both 6-71 inline (mostly used in trucks and buses) and the 6V-71 (mostly used in industrial equipment). both where top-rated at 238hp although many were de-rated to as little as 195hp
Western Star even built a short hood truck with the 6V-71 for local and industrial use such as concrete mixer chassis.
