Talking about creampuffs of the era, my parents had an 82 Electra with that 5.7L dog of a diesel. If you weren't in a hurry, it had the smoothest ride ever and got 28 mpg anywhere you drove it. Just not a good choice for anything ending with a high speed pursuit.

True lol..... but if we share a few things from the old way, maybe in the future today’s parts replacers may learn something other than plugging into a diagnostic port? :D:rolleyes:

The ex had a gas Electra from around 82 that they bought new. Told me several times about it caught fire regularly. Had a 30 mile commute and Always carried two gallons of water every day. First thing they checked every day was the emergency water, no matter who was driving it.
Friend had a Riviera with the diesel that would just refuse to even try to crank whenever it wasn't in the mood. It did it to me once. Caught on fire and he was glad.

Now that is not bad. The one I stopped at was just disgusting. They didn't even have paper towels because guys were clogging toilets with it.
