Talking about creampuffs of the era, my parents had an 82 Electra with that 5.7L dog of a diesel. If you weren't in a hurry, it had the smoothest ride ever and got 28 mpg anywhere you drove it. Just not a good choice for anything ending with a high speed pursuit.
