Absolutely, especially if it’s under 45 minutes.

    Wow!
That is rare. I called a broker load this morning person on the phone said with attitude.." Why didn't you pick up the load yesterday!!!"
I answered...." Because I only had 0.02 on my clock." And I told your other co- worker the same information!!! Yesterday."
Complete silence on the broker.. I then said can I please have the pickup number.. I have been trying since yesterday calling for that information.
Finally he gives me what I need to go. I arrived at shipper and then get the same story! Why did you pick up the load yesterday!
Dear Lord! The things we go through!
And now here I wait until they can "Work me in" with only less than 5 hours on my clock.
Brokers are never going to be in my Christmas list! :D

    Well, I was here at 11:45 for a noon LLD and it’s now 1pm and I just bumped the dock... {shrug}

Oh well, it was still a great start of my day!!!
And I still haven’t started my clocks.
Although I only have 8 recap for today.

Hey, I’m heading to RVA to have an intermittent engine light looked at and take a 34... if anyone is on the Yard for the 4th, hit me up.

After several aborted attempts over the last two years it looks like I'm finally going to get to carry a BH bound for Fife, WA further than Chicago. Anyone have any advice for this trip? I've never been to the area north of Portland and west of Walla Walla.

Give yourself enough headstart to make the delivery!
There is a lot of up and down hills with curves. Many variables in speed change with single country roads used also by other drivers with mobile campers.
If you get there early grab any of the open spots and back in before checking in; the lady at the front desk doesn't mind. The place is a bit tight.

If you need to park after the delivery don't trust your GPS that there is a truck stop about 6 minutes away... I did not find them. There building a new loves truck stop that is not finished!
I had to drive to a shell gas station with truck parking and pay $11 for 12 hours of parking. I will try to find the address for you.
Along the trip waaay before the consignee about 6 hours; there is a truck stop called "Lincoln silver dollar truck stop" or something like that, the place is great!
But again... Give yourself enough time because I personally found out that the trip to "Fife, Wa" it's beautiful but will drag your speed.

And thus may be old news to the thread but new to me... the security guard at Boars Head Groveport said they are building a new Loves just to the North of them.

Seems I come and go via the southern route, so my closest TS are the Pilot/Loves some 30 minutes away... will be nice to have another option in that area.

So, I tried to be smart and efficient...
    (well, efficient anyway)

Try to combine a 34 with a shop visit... looked good on paper... until on the way to RVA I realize it’s going to be the 4th of July... awesome, maybe see some fireworks tonight.

But then it hit me, will the Shop be open???

Answer: Nope... not even a skeleton crew.

Walk to the window and ask if they have anything they can send me out on and get me back to, once again, combine a 34 with shop visit on Friday instead...

    Answer: Nope

So I’ll take a 34 today and then let the Shop look at why my engine light keeps going on and off... hope it’s nothing.

Ya, I know lots of Drivers will ignore the light if the Truck is running ok... but you don’t know my luck... if I do that, then something will break and then you know someone here will ask “didn’t the engine light come on?”

    Darned if you do,
    Darned if you don’t.

    jarhead0311 and Silverdriver Thank this.
