We used to pull cranes and load trailers for a few companies that for one reason or another couldn't get in the Port.

I went to the port at Mobile once, it wasn’t bad. I had to go to a building to get a pass I think, it was a building in a lot and you had to go up the stairs. I pulled in and there must have been 50 reefers there. Some old boy said “don’t worry thems chicken trucks they’ll be gone quick” he was right they were in and out in minutes.

I use mine often when running the 20' wides into Savannah, each one of those require multiple trips into the port, delivering, prepping, loading into the ship etc. However right now we're flying them out of Tulsa on the Antonov so........

Other than that, for what I do here not much need for it. Always need to have it just in case I get one if those dreaded "I need you to do me a favor" calls. And since I'll be going into the OTR system when I unload in Quebec, might be needing it as we occasionally pick up at the port in Montreal for Boeing. Of course both my port cards for both Montreal ports are expired so having my TWIC is only half the battle, will still waste another day and a half to get a "visitor" pass.........

Sure didn't, every port that already had their own ID card system in place only stepped up the game requiring more BS to get their card in addition to requiring the TWIC. I tried to return a flat container to a port, I think in Florida and they wouldn't even let me in to drop off an empty container without spending a day and a bunch of money to get their card. I left it at the terminal in Charleston and months later it was still sitting there. It's gone now, I assume to the scrap yard.

I think Williams was the one that was in there the most. They had the contract to load transformers when the port crane broke down which was often. It's funny that port crane had a ton of hours but only had like 28 miles on it.
