And from what I read last night about aviation fuel, there is still little regulation, and many planes (i.e. those using 100LL or similar) are running on what is essentially leaded gasoline.
Anyone on here hauling Jet fuel or Avgas 100LL

Diamond has a twin engine with diesel. I think Cessna introduced a diesel 182 or 172. I'm not sure if they are still selling them. Pilots flying diesels have to really make a big effort to prevent being misfueled with AvGas. The aircraft are clearly labled Jet-A only.
The article below is a bit dated.

AvGas or 100LL is HIGHLY regulated but lead is still allowed. I'm guessing that since 100LL is so small a fraction of world fuel use, the Commies haven't got around to yanking it. Blue 100LL has about 4 times the lead content of old leaded car gas. It's only called 100 low-lead because it's lower in lead compared to the older military purple fuel from WWII. 100LL is an excellent parts cleaner compared to car gas. It's also a fantastic street racing fuel for cars.

Also works great in my lawn mower.

They have not really caught on at all, and so few ever sold its barely worth mentioning.

Turbines... sort of.
As mentioned, while diesel and jet fuel (kerosene) are very similar chemically, diesel has a higher viscosity and is prone to gelling at higher temperatures than kerosene (really bad in an aircraft application
). Under certain conditions you could run turbines on diesel in an emergency. However, some engine manufacturers actually have turbines modified for continuous operation on diesel. These are typically aimed at the agricultural and helicopter markets.
Similar to the PT6A-27 engine model, intended for agricultural aviation with the increased corrosion protected hardware and special design features for agricultural use. Also certified for unlimited operation on diesel fuel. This engine produces 715 eshp and 680 shaft horsepower.

When I worked in the oil patch our frac trucks had turbine engines. We ran them on kerosene, but would switch to diesel if we had to.Last edited: Jul 9, 2019

The airplanes I work on over here in Korea have the PT6A-50

How much does 12 gallons of 100LL cost?
