i remeber driving i-84 westbound i was about to hit the oregon border, i was trying to get to loves in ontario to shut down for the night,. it had to be 4 or 5 am. i call it the devils hour cuz thats when i always start dozing off.. thats exactly wat happened about 6 miles east of oregon border .. .. i had been dozing off for about a good 2 hours.. until right before i hit the border. maybe its because i knew loves is only like 5 miles on the other side and i was so close yet so far but either way my body was officialy going to sleep .. i started to see people in front of me. not like cars. but real people and they were talking to eachother, having a conversation but i couldnt make out what they were saying... i was not hallucinating ... i was litterally dreaming with my eyes open and my mind was asleep but my eyes were still on the road and i was driving fine..atleast i thought i was.. ..i caught myself about 5 or 6 seconds later after it happened and it freaked me out.. luckily there is a rest area right on the border and i ended up pulling into that a couple minutes later. there was only one parking space left, i felt like an angel reserved it for me .. when i pulled the breaks and as soon as i lay down in bed i went to sleep instantly. but the craziest part was that i started dreaming i was still driving my truck and i was dozing off at the wheel and i woke up right before i was about to crash and I woke up in a crazy panic thinking i was still driving, only to realize i was in bed and i wasnt driving anymore... it took me a couple seconds to realize what was going on ..once i realize what was happening i slept for a good 14 hours straight.. and decided to never let myself get that tired anymore.. i swear i was not on any drugs , just tired. when ur that tired i think it could make it feel like ur on drugs, ur mind likes to mess with u and go crazy.. I have driven so tired many times before, woke up on the side of the highway on ramp not knowing where i was or how i got there , just thankful that i was smart enough in my sleepy fog to pull over.. but after all those times ive learned its never worth the extra money u may make by driving tired if the load gets their faster. my health is more important and my life is even more important .. i curious if u guys have any crazy stories
Whats the most tired you have ever been?

There are some posters on here I get real tired of, if that counts. I also yawned once in 1998, after running 36 hours straight hauling chickens coast to coast. Now on Elogs I’m so rested I haven’t blinked since 2014.

Yesterday I woke up at 6am waiting for dispatch. They promised they’d have a load any minute, till 2pm and finally dispatch me right as I’m going to take a nap. 860 or so miles down toward MS. I’m doing fine until about midnight.
It was weird I didn’t “feel” tired but my eyes were really really dry and I was blinking constantly. Then I realized just how long it was taking me to process everything going on. It was like I was sedated my thoughts were trying to move through jello. I stopped at a rest area and parked along the curb.Last edited: Jul 10, 2019

I remember driving one night in Nebraska, on I-80. I was about 5 or 10 miles east of Grand Island. A Little Debbie truck passed me and the face on the side of the trailer, I hallucinated that she was talking. I was like, "Awww hell naw! I am shutting down now!" That was some serious craziness.

Not driving but we had a custom pickup we were trying to get ready for sema a few years back and I stayed up for three days straight putting it back together and wet sanding it. I also saw people, I kept hearing them outside even tho there was nobody out there and there was someone sitting in the truck. Weird feeling because I knew there was nobody there but as I was wet sanding it I would see him in there. I must have been having a paranoid episode because I locked all of the door from the inside, went into my office and fell asleep. When everyone showed up the next day they couldn't get in and had to beat on the doors for like an hour to wake me up. I then still sleep deprived jumped back on putting the truck together with the guys and spent and hour putting a headlight in wrong like five times and couldn't figure out why I couldn't do something so easy. The two guys that were working for me called my wife to come get me lol.
