I hadn't heard them numbers get thrown around since high school shop class. #### I'm getting old.

Never was a very good stick welder. Too shakey to make it look good and couldn't get the movement of across and feeding the rod at the same time down I guess.

That is exactly what I did. Course I ain’t no pro, but after a few passes with a grinder and a coat of Krylon, she looks just as good as anything else on the truck. Lol.

You got any more secrets to share though, I’m all ears. It’s been a long time since I did any stick welding, but I got tired of having to be at the mercy of the shop hands every time I needed some little something put back together. These lease roads show no mercy on a 20 year old rig.

Shakey can be good with a stick machine. Holding the rod loosely with the off hand about mid ways can make some pretty welds too. Filing gaps is mostly where rod movement comes into play. Your natural shake is bout all you need on stringer passes. @1951 ford how close am i?

Gotta run to International in the morning... got another pesky turn signal out.

Other than that I think I solved everything that’s currently wrong!

But when I get a new wagon next week I’m sure I’ll get to rinse and repeat!
