    You mean there’s another way?

    On a similar note, I was cleaning out that one drawer in my toolbox that I keep all the paperwork and manuals in, to make room for the paperwork on the new welder, and found an old Edelbrock carb kit with gaskets and paperwork.

    I can’t even think how many years that’s been in there.

    I’ve been playing around with a secret potion to help with that problem. Oh alright, if you’re gonna twist my arm, it’s ammonia, Simple Green, and a little Dawn soap. It loosens the guts up, but ya still need some rinse water.

    We used to make adjustments to our quadrajets and edelbrocks. Then one of us would stand at the muffler and see how much black smoke was coming out revving it to see if we needed to lean it out a little. It worked well.

    Haven't seen one of those in awhile. Someone around here had one as a firetruck. Can't remember the department. hmmmmm
