You might've averaged 64 the whole way if not for going through Gary/Chicago

If you’re having these types of issues then you need to stop driving team period. It’s nearly possible for me to sleep in a moving truck so that’s why I don’t do it.

Also, you said “this account” so I figure you’re running some type of dedicated route. A customer can certainly lay down some type of expectations. If you don’t meet them it’s ok, you just have to stop working that account.

Also, have you literally told them you’re “sick and exhausted”. Anyone I dealt with at Swift would say you need to stop driving if you feel that way.

You have no recourse ... You're hired to do a job, you're not doing it.

It is illegal for them to let you drive if you are ill or fatigued. That being said, they don't have to keep you around either.
    Illness or Fatigue (392.3)
Drivers may not operate, nor shall a motor carrier require or permit a driver to operate, a CMV if they are too tired or sick to drive safely. Operation may be discontinued at the driver’s discretion.

Easily doable if you are running across the country... I average about 3700 miles a week, and almost always have time left on my 70.

Last week I ran over 4100 miles in 7 days... Idahofalls, ID-Lima, OH-West Chester, OH-Missoula, MT-Idahofalls, ID... I had 19 mins left on my 70 when I finished. 67 MPH truck.

I just found out they actually want us running 7000 miles per week. I'm just sick of being run ragged and having no free time for the .25cpm they pay. I dont know how you can have a life running 24/7 365 but that's what they want and apparently I'm just an ####### for wanting otherwise, forget it then.

I cant just delete this thread. Can a mod do it please.

    bzinger and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

If they refuse to understand what part of NO.. then they will understand when their semi is parked deep inside short term parking of a airport or amtrack that I just flew home or rode home on.

If I still want to run more loads will be a conversation we will have AFTER I am good and ready. Not a day before.

    You'll run out of hours
You'll run out of hours before you make it to the 7th day.

no way all u have to do is average 60mph for 10 hrs thats very doable on the right lanes out west in a 65mph truck. you should be able to average 60-62 mph easily from west to midwest and back. as long u keep the left door shut

There's a lot of good information in this thread. If you don't want to participate simply quit posting and the thread will go on without you.

You might want to hang around. Your problems aren't unique and you'll very probably learn something here. If you want to, that is.
