House Hold Guide miles. Zip code to zip code.

Your pay miles come from that A difference of many over your actual miles.

BFI was the short for Browning Ferris Industries.
A very large waste disposal company.
Most of the top executives went to jail, then the company was liquidated and became Waste Management Inc.

Republic services bought them out. My wife was in their corporate office for years. BFI over did it buying a ton of small mom and pop trash outfits and landfills and started making very little money so they sold to republic. Republic cut the ever loving #### out of everything in that company lol. My wife hung on for about a year after the buyout but then decided to bail before they cut her job too.

I worked for a demolition landfill that was bought out by WM. Wow, what a drastic change. So much waste of peoples time with red-tape and meetings. There wasn't any more profit to be seen, just an allowance...

BFI was actually split and sold off in chunks.
Allied industries got the biggest chunk, waste management, then waste connections, picked up the next two largest chunks, the scraps went to other smaller companies.

Allied did operate some areas as BFI,
Republic services bought out allied in 2008.
They did operate under the allied name in a lot of places. Allied should be gone entirely by now. Three years ago, they started a full rebranding program to eliminate all other names, only republic will stand.
One of my neighbors is the western regional manager for republic.
