I’m not sure if this might have something to do with this as it is not the first time the LME Lakeville Motor Express closes their door I work for one of the companies that picked and delivered business for them and was told to stop want I was doing and head back in to the terminal all drivers were being called back in I just don’t understand how a company as big as LME/lakeville Motor Express with 30 locations across the USA not including partner locations like the one I work for that most of their business was through LME does things like this and not expected to be sued again for not giving any type of notice but after I was told that LME was closing it’s door I started doing research and when they got sued 3 or 4 years ago for doing the same thing it just got settled a month ago so now they have to pay those employees around 1.2 or 2.4 million back.Me personally I think that is the reason why they closed their door like that https://www.google.com/amp/s/cdllif...-finally-getting-1-25-million-in-backpay/amp/

Interestingly enough, I saw an LME trailer just this morning heading west on the Kansas Turnpike. It was part of a set of doubles, and I didn’t catch the name on the truck or first trailer but I think it was another company.

They had a relatively big terminal in my area, so hopefully their closing means more freight for us.

    Didn't they interline with Pitt-Ohio?

Just found out that the U.S. Labor Department office is right across the street from me. I'm going to talk to the FED office before Iowa, and see if the big dogs can offer any assistance.

I did some one way power only work out of indy for LME to they're Omaha terminal from 02 to 08 and back then they interlined with Estes .
In 2001 when LME set up shop in Omaha they hired me as a clean up driver but we were not LME employees , we were employed by h@b trucklines of Madison south Dakota an agent for LME ...another way around the union lol .
When They hired a few ex CF drivers whom all started a union petition that failed they were down the road quick.
Eventually h@b failed and LME built a brand new terminal in council bluffs and was run under LME and the labor issues died off .
What became a problem then was rampant cargo theft and a few people went down over that .
I only worked for h@B a few months and it was an absolute poop show but a life long friend of mine ran the dock at both locations and kept me up on the latest happenings until he moved to Nebraska transport in 2010 which is now cross country of Bismarck north Dakota as of about a year ago .
At that point the swapping of freight between NTC and LME ended .
Mouthes at cross country are watering today lol.

Iowa labor board says that since the Company is insolvent, there is nothing they can get from them. I'm confused. They have assets in property, buildings, and equipment. Well, I'm going to the FED's to see if there are any options there.

Couple of the guys I work with are heading to a Dept Of Labor office here in IL to see what can be done. I just finished registering for unemployment benefits, first time I've ever done that. I've got 20 years in driving, I know there's trucking jobs out there but I'm thinking it's time for me to bow out. Do something different. No desire to go back on the road.

Realistically I don't know if there's anything that can be done. Would like what I'm owed. But I felt like these guy's were shady after I was here awhile so this closing didn't surprise me. Sucks non the less, my terminal had a good bunch of drivers, good manager as well.
