Hey Superior guys, looking for a little help if you know. I've been off the road since the 90's. Still have my cdl. I'm thinking real hard about getting back out there. I've been in the automotive business the last 20 years and I am getting burned out. I know I can't just jump right back in without some schooling. Superior looks like a good fit for me. Does anybody know which schools in Georgia they approve? I've been thinking about this for months and months and just saw yesterday they are looking to hire for the Morrow terminal. So it may be time now. I left a message with the lady in recruiting yesterday asking about schools but I haven't heard back from her yet. If anybody knows feel free to chime in. Also I really enjoy all the posts you guys put on here, been subscribing for a while. Thanks again!

Im in FL and did my school at Roadmaster in Jacksonville. Some of the other guys lived in GA. Ultimately you have to take the test in the state you live in. The guy were telling that GA is extremely hard to pass. Good luck.

Call Superior Carriers and ask.... if you still have your CDL, a refresher course is all you might need...not a full blown $$ course.

Not worrying about passing the test, got my cdl way back in 95 and still have it. Just no recent experience so I get to be a rookie again...with a 25 year old cdl.

Right. Most places will require a refresher.
I don't know where you live, but Albany Tech in Albany used to do refreshers. Wasn't much more than a check ride.
Check your company's website. They'll usually tell you who they approve.
    Good luck

Where do you live? No need to give a specific city if you don't want to, just a general area of the state will suffice.

I know for a fact Oconee Fall Line Technical College is approved, I went there when it was Sandersville Tech.

Also Miller-Motte, Georgia Driving Academy, and others.

If it's an option I suggest a state run technical college. They're typically more affordable.

I’m in northeast Georgia....Cleveland/Sautee area. North Ga Tech is about a half hour from my house if they still have a CDL program. It wasn’t listed on their website the last time I looked but I know they used to have one. I’d even be willing to travel if I needed to. I’m just ready to get back on the road. The kids are older now and with Superior it looks like I could still make it home pretty often and not be out for weeks at a time unless I wanted to be.

I'd check with them and see. I would think any state run school would offer a nearly identical program and be approved.

Superior does have a good work/home balance, and you're in a good area. I believe the Atlanta terminal has some drivers based out of Chattanooga. How many and if they need more I don't know, buy it never hurts to call and ask.

Don't know where, in GA, you're located at, but we have 2 terminals there Savannah and ATL(Morrow). Best to call one of them(the closest one you live near) and speak with the terminal manager. they will tell which ones you should look at. That's pretty much your best bet. Good luck!
