    Pharm, about this...

This is really low pay per mile, yet you've pulled in some impressive net profit. It seems that you are pulling some big mileage which is great, but has me thinking; how would you figure out depreciation of the truck per x amount of miles? As in, how much would you figure to stash away for a new truck once that one is done for, and how much for a second truck? I would be overjoyed to pull this kind of dough, but you know the truck won't last forever.

Just curious what your strategy is on this, as I have been crunching numbers regarding what a second truck would take in 1-2 years.

There's two approaches. The main one is the payment approach. Assume there will always be one and the numbers will always work. As far as the down payment on a truck, divide that by 5 or so and throw that into your yearly overhead. It should only be about a grand a year and a percentage of a penny. My break even for 150000 miles a year is about 75 cents. I don't ever assume the truck is paid off.

    Yea, it's me.

No Pharm, I didn't mean anything negative about that. I just had an incredible string of luck and survived learning. I wish I would have had all the support you had in here!

I was doing pretty good until I got home last November and the lab I use to work in needed me to come back for 2 weeks. Well, I'm still there but hoping to get back out the end of June.

Just as well, things really suck out there right now.

    I enjoyed reading your adventure!
