550, I guess he's stuck at 475 then. You must be runnin a 30918 or bigger?
Just find a shop that doesn't care about mfg's ratings

Good friend is area Cat rep. he said if its out of warranty uprate to what the engine was built for is not a problem. all 3406E cant go to 550 but 475 to 550 should be ok.this is a dealer thing not Cat . he sent a tip, when doing uprate there is a place for tech to enter trans model number.this should be left blank. is not required when theres no warranty. he said if your dealer wont do it find another dealer

wow!! thanks for all the info guys! my truck has a 13spd, im sure
the trans can handle the power, im gonna try a different dealer
on Tuesday. -
Its a liability thing for CAT, if the trans is a RTLO16913A they wont bump to 550hp just incase something happened to trans it would be their #####.

by the way 3406e come wit 70pin ecm without fuel lines, the 40pin come wit fuel lines
-
Thats right.
The rumor is a Cat dealer uprates a truck to 550hp 1850ft/lb with a 1600ft/lb box in it at the owners request. Dealer is aware the box is not rated to handle the torque so they make the owner sign a waiver saying they are not responsible if the box fails. A few weeks later the box fails, owner sues the dealer. Owner wins because the dealer asking the owner to sign a waiver is an admission that they knew the box would fail, the dealer is therefore legally responsible.
To my knowledge this is a rumor only, but its one that keeps the dealers worried. -

so the tranny should hold the power just fine. but
i wonder if the clutch will hold up to the added power?
