End dump work is that like the jmh dump trailers that I always see going to the dumps?
Most of the farm work like milk hauling is about an 1-1.5 hours. I'm not to familiar with alot of the smaller companies since you never see them advertise. -
I totally understand that, but the companies all tell me that the "insurance" companies want a year of class a driving -
Thanks though. -
Oh I totally agree with you, however if I'm not driving class a now they won't "verify" I have 3 months exp and then nobody will touch me. I have a squeaky clean mvr, squeaky clean background.
I thought once I got my class a it would be simple so they can "teach me their way of how they want things done"
I appreciate all of yalls feedback and opinions. -
Leonard's wants a year from the guy I talked to today.
I'm going to Estes for the job fair and see what that gig is all about.
I'm sure everyone says it but I would like to find a place to just make a career out of. Prior to trucking I was a flooring installer for 8 years. Now I'm 27 and ready to make real money and make a career with retirement and insurance.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
Scrap haulers, grain, corn, feed, lime, sand, rock, dirt. If its hitched to a truck and has a tailgate on the back its probably an end dump.
Farm tagged 150 miles from base operations get away with murder compared to OTR and thus can overlook things that interstate companies cannot. I got a CDL on my own with no training from anyone, so i had to start in peculiar places. It worked. Im not on here complaining or job seeking and my kids have new shoes.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
If you like staying local then you can look at the building material supply companies in your area. Most of them will hire you without experience and pay a decent wage. Plus, you get to unload most material with a Moffet/Piggyback. Easy to learn and not bad work. Mostly consistent hours with a slower season in the winter. Good way to rack up some experience. I did that for 14 years, provided a good living.
FoolsErrand and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
