Why yes, I do teach them to cut corners. I say "see this itty, bitty road here? It will be a flaming pain to run, but it is a truck route and it will save you 30 minutes over the big road".

I also teach them to ignore most of what they hear at truckstops - especially when the driver gets his marching orders from a cat.

Wheel seals don't need to be leaking when you keep a steady, light pressure all the way down then stand on the brakes. It's what drivers tend to do in autos.

 

I like being early for a live unload and when I walk in they say.

“We’re so happy you’re early! Can we unload you right now??”

“Why yes. Yes you can. I’ll drop the trailer and go get some brekkie. Back in an hour in a half?”

“That would be perfect!”

Sheesh. Imagine if it was always this pleasant.

LOL. I’d be forced to hide the body at some point. The good thing about training is I know exactly how long they’ll be on the truck. I can play nice for that period of time
