ampm wayne Thanks this.

I may just take two! I need a spare apparently
grease gun would be good. Truck should be greased every week and that's $25 to $30 at a truck stop.
I'm hesitating to do the wheel seal. They gave me the wrong hub gasket so I just have a sneaky suspicion the axle seal is going to be wrong too. -

my local pete dealer is useless. it's a rush peterbilt. I highly suggest running fast and far from any rush owned pete shop.
Put that with my truck being 23 years old and all the parts diagrams being on microfish tape and very few parts guys knowing there ### from a hole in the ground and I do have a problem getting parts. WHat's worse is it's a 50 mile drive to peterbilt and 75 miles to freightliner (which is the cummins shop I use) and they are opposite directions. Friday I went to doth of them. About 300 miles -
You could get in a mess with that wheel seal. If that does not go well you are going to have your hands full tomorrow. -
Is the grease gun special for trucks, or is this something I can pick up at Lowe's?

I broke my grease gun and paid TA to grease my truck and a few days later I crawled under it and the slip joint in the front driveshaft was compleatly dry.
I have enough money to have the shop replace that axle seal for me. BUT I don't have enough to replace the bearings if they are bad so that's why I am doing it but like you said I'm worried about taking it apart and not being able to put it together. as it is I tore my cooling system compleately apart this weekend and flushed out as much as I could and replaced the thermostat and all the hoses but I forgot the one hose just off the thermostat is a different size then the rest so I can't even put that back together untill I get a stinking 4" piece of hose. -

you can get a grease gun anywhere. just make sure it comes with a rubber hose to reach the fittings. SOme are metal tube and it can get very hard or impossible to rech some fittings with it not being flexible.
most guns will take either a 14oz or 14.5oz grease tube. you can get the tubes of grease at any parts store, etc. also use a GOOD high temp grease
