That pretty much covers it. The reason the 625 file gains fuel is because the 625 file has more timing than the 550 file as the 625 from factory are 17:1, the 550 acerts are 18:1.

I can testify to Paule and the performance of his motor with a Bully Dog. From what I have heard is that the PP box can get the motor a little hot if the driver doesn't know how to read the gauges and handle the throttle. My advice would be get the Bully Dog, mainly to get the timing back in the motor. Then if your not satisfied with the performance go after the next step. Everything costs money and the smae saying they have for drag racing goes for trucking, sled pulling and horsepower. Speed costs money (change the first word to fit your situation).

PP on level 2-3 is about same power increase as BD ( BD has more tq )
fan was on a little more and 100 deg higher egt with PP. the BD is more like stock as far as temps go.
since economy slowed my weights have been 75-80k have had a few 90k but i run midwest to NE and the hills just arent that big to really test.
on my normal run to Mass theres 1 hill i drop 1 gear to 12th (75k or higher) thats it.

I think the ultimate (without changing hard parts) would be a 625 file with BD or similar tune . I really dont need the power but it would be interesting to try it.
Jas, are 550 injectors same as 625 ? if not would 550 inj move enough fuel for this ? BD adds about 85 hp/ 300 tq to a 625

I can tell you that PDI has a number of different tunes they can do to an ECM. The tune in my ECM now adds 300 HP to the ground over the stock tune. It depends on what you want to do and how far you want to go, but I like PDI's because it adds timing and fuel. Even with this radical tune my fuel mileage went up, water temps and EGT's are easier to manage.

Mr Haney , thanks for the imput, nothing like the opinion of the end user.
Im still under warranty and like the BD for that reason( 30 min to change files ) and PDI was not as advanced with their tune at the time I got the BD . Im sure there will be more feedback on PDI in the future.
I contacted Antrim about dyno services, i think i spoke to the owner, nice guy. you were there, what are your thoughts on them ?

Thanks all for your interesting and honest input.

I am about to purchase a bully Dog as my truck is new, it is undectable to the OEM data thingy, and adds good power and better torque.

There are even some dealers in the US who sell the Bully Dog and are happy that no long term harm can happen to the engine.

They stand behind there product and while it may not be the most power out there, it is better that standard and still runs and looks like standard.

you can put the in a fleet situation and the drivers can't blow up a good engine because they tinkered with the setting or didn't watch the EGT.

Not to mention the extra economy, which is really what the are trying to achieve.
We all want the best truck out there, the cost of running it HAS to come into it as well as the reliability issue.

I have applied for the Australian distributorship for the Bully Dog. So I am sold on the idea. And am still waiting for PDI to return my 1st email (2 weeks).

I will let you know of any developments, and look foward to testing it on my acert

    Thanks,

    Tony

They are different, but I'm not sure by how much, from what I can tell the difference is in the tip.
