Alright so first things first...i know how to idle...BUT I have a 14 freightliner cascadia...the only thing is...i dont have that box (cant remember the name..long day) in my sleeper that you usually press when idling...every tractor Ive drove has had one...but this one does not...so does anyone know how to idle?? From what i know...you have to have that to idle. I mean is there even a way to idle?? Can it even idle?? Its wayyy to hot to not have some air flow going on!!

Drop the landing gear on the trailer, release the tractor brakes, and go to sleep. Releasing the parking brake should bypass all that anti-idle nonsense

Not necessarily. My old company had late model Cascadias and had them setup where absolutely nothing we did would make them idle. They were day cabs so we didn't fight it but we tried everything, all the brake and cruise control tricks, everything. You could even put a tire thumper between the driver's seat and the pedal to idle them up (with brakes off) and they would cut off after 3 minutes.

Modern trucks are highly computerized. If they program them to shut down you won't beat it.

If you drive for a company that won't let you idle or put an APU on the truck for climate control they that company is truly evil and doesn't care about your well being.

Trucker327, you've posted this in the owner operator forum, so is this your truck? If so, take it to Freightliner and have it the shutdown turned off in the programming.

Do you own this truck? If so go to a dealer and have them remove idling restrictions
