need help with medical history on dot physical

Find another psychiatrist and get a correct diagnosis.
If you are bypolar or schizophrenic you shouldn’t be driving a truck. These are serious illnesses that will cloud your judgment.

For some reason years ago you end up at a psychiatrist office. I’m sure there was a reason for that.
Not saying the doctor wasn’t wrong. People are misdiagnosed everyday.
How long since you stopped taking your meds?

 

Keep your mouth shut. I know everyone says honesty is the best policy but it's not when it comes to this. Unless you are taking a controlled substance like xanax don't say anything. Its really going to hurt you if you do.

I have one question. Im tempted to start typing, but hold to just one thought most.

What happened to you in particular that LANDED you into that original Shrink or doctors office to create a situation when they decided to prescribe you medicines of a diagnosis that was not shared with you openly. The two diagnosis you explained are extremely serious mental health issues and you will NOT find one with that on record behind the wheel of a 18 wheeler.

Not you in particular. But people in the past when they have very bad mental issues and break badly with possession of a 18 wheeler or some other weapon... things get really dangerous for people (Plural) around them.

My Relative was responsible for Security of Air-force Bases in the Cold War to secure our Nuclear assets for war purposes. He explained one day about a airman who had mental issues and managed to act out on these by getting a M16 out of the armory and actually ammunition to load and make the weapon ready to shoot people. They resolve that situation (Actually a crisis of the most serious emergency that day on base)

One can only imagine what will happen when someone who is not well decides to weaponize a 18 wheeler. (And has in the past...)

But leaving all that aside, what happened to you in life before you ended up in the office on that particular day? Did you have parents who were afraid or somehow decide to have a doctor determine if you were mentally ill and need medicine?

Next question. Is this incident where you were prescribed the medicine in childhood or as a adult over 18? Would there be a record anywhere in writing outside of the prescriptions made to you in the records tied to you specifically?

The reason I say this is this. If you are not on any medicine and everything is cool, there is nothing to say to the DOT examiner. You would not volunteer information at all. Yes or no and then shut up. Most people make a mistake of blabbing and then they wonder why the Examiner only gave them a 90 day card or none at all.

There is a third thought you expressed. You are correct that if something did happen (And it will...) where there was not enough time and space to get that 18 wheeler under your control stopped, and you maim or kill people in a car or crossing the street etc. The Courts, and lawyers; will absolutely try to dig up anything on record with you and if they find that buried mental health diagnosis with the prescribed medicine you are going to jail for a very long time and your EMPLOYER will be next in Civil Court for hiring someone with mental health issues. By the time the civil is finished with the employer there is a good chance that employer will be out of business.

I typed alot where I told myself I would not type so much. But those are my thoughts and questions.

I leave you with the following: If you like yourself and you are good to go without trouble in every day living doing whatever you enjoy or work at then go for it. But you have to keep your mouth shut vs a DOT examiner. If you say even one word about any of this to a DOT examiner who will not see you again in life you will not get a DOT medical card. And unfortunately that DOT examiner will get to write into record why you did not get the DOT card. A database will be built eventually that covers that situation to clean the industry up further. That is a problem to discuss another day.
