Watch out for discounts. When buying used truck i went to a dealer in houston because thy offered discounts to veterans. I think it was $3,000 off. I was ready to finalize the deal, i said im a vet and please apply the $3,000 discount.
‘Oh no sir, thank you for your service, but the discount is on those trucks over there.’
They pointed me to identical trucks, but are priced $3,000 higher.
So i went and got ripped off somewhere else
Had i known at the time that they broke the law by offering bogus veteran discounts, and that some military agency is actively searching these thugs out, i would have reported them at the time.
I just got screwed this weekend by MHC kenworth in south dallas over a bogus landstar discount that they promised, only to be later told they no longer offer landstar discounts.
I love how people always say “thank you for your service” just before they F you in the back.
