@stwik also keep in mind it's so hard to compare unless the are "like speced". Trucks could look close and someone ordered a heavier frame rail, or extra crossmember or bigger tanks. So it is really hard to compare unless equal spec. But Western Star will still do a lot of custom stuff were others will not. Normally they are a bit chunky.

    Oh, of course...

I’d love a small bunk long hood on a 244-260 frame... I’d reckon weight will all be within 500-1000lbs between manufacturers if the details underneath are all specced close.

There’s something about a WS that I really like, at least when we’re talking modern emission trucks... I’ve heard they leak like a mother####er though... yet I can’t say any truck I’ve driven hasn’t leaked....

597 miles today....left Salina and delivered in OKC....bounced to Ft. Smith and loaded for Warren, OH and presently holed up in Joplin, MO. Here is a pic of a sweet ride that loaded behind me in Ghent, KY a few weeks ago. Driver said it started out as a 377 but they put a 379 hood on it. Suicide doors, custom exhaust, tank straps....lots to look at. 20190626_083126.jpg

Idk, last one I worked on was a 06, no leaks, it was loud inside with a Acert cat. But it was parked inside most every night in a heated shop.

First Pro Star I drove was a USA recovery. It had sat up at T5 in the fuel mart for about a week in rain. Had a key cut, jumped it and I was lucky sob to drive it to the shop. First turn I made about 9 fing gallons of cold rain water dumped on me. Froze my rear off driving to the shop.

It's a dam shame that people can't defend themselves anymore without offending anyone nowadays. As the saying goes......if you don't want to hear the answer don't ask the question....ie., if you don't want to be poked back don't poke, what the hell do you expect with a bunch of adults?

I had a great time bantering with KT, I told him once I wouldn't want to get in a word fight with him, he is leaps and bounds above my intellectual level. He was fun. He could take a punch just as easily as dishing it out, and sometimes he kept asking to get punched, you weren't bothering him in the least, it was fun to watch, especially him and @rank in the sports thread, it may not have been fun for rank at the time but it was for me and that's all that mattered, lol.

There's a difference in having a good time and being a bully, imho. I think some here do or did border on being a bully. I get it that some wander in here and for whatever reason don't fit in. Use to we would just ignore em and they'd leave eventually. Now? It's an all out attack with insults and name calling.

I've always felt fortunate to be welcomed here and no one has ever made me feel any different and I appreciate it more than you'll know. I know this is on the "Flatbed" section but the thread is "where is everyone#5", not exclusive to just flatbedders, or HH or OS, or OW, or OD, those folks have their own section and I think it stays pretty exclusive to them, I think.

We all do different things and come from different walks of life, it's fun knowing people from here. Hell, I've even had a couple of swan songs here but I've come back because I missed it, the people, but I gotta say the past few months have sucked. You have to watch what you say, who you say it to, who's going to put you down because of something you said, stuff like that, it didn't use to be this way, I hope it gets better soon.

Anyway, KT is a good guy and he'll be missed by this "fella".
