Sound like a good deal to me as long as you get some hours. Good Luck

    Buster,

I agree with the rest of the posts. Take the hourly pay. At least you know you will be paid for all of your time. Which is a lot more than I can say for most truckers. They give up a lot of time for free to their companies. It's a shame.

The only thing I don't get is the OT after 52 hours? A lot of companies pay OT after forty hours. Some, like mine, pay after 8 hours. Do you know why they came up with the 52 hour rule?

Anyway, for lack of a better word, you will be miles ahead of a great many drivers out here. Congratulations!

I dont get the O/T over 52 hours myself. NYS says you must pay O/T over 40 hrs. Well, like I said, over all it's a good gig. My current driving dont even pay O/T, they give you comp time, comp time dont put food on the table or help pay the bills.

As far as the hours, they told me not to worry about that. I'll be in northern NJ, PA and all of NY. I think the hours will be there.

I suppose it depends on the kind of tanker work you do. When I have to use my own pump, 1 hour is the best i can hope for. The quickest I've ever loaded was with hi-brix molasses out of an 8'' overhead boom in about 20 minutes.

You're right. I'm talking about gasoline and loading three products at the same time. The truck shakes when so much product is being loaded. But it's safe and done with all the modern precautions.

    Buster,

Just remember, not all trucking companies abide by those rules. Some actually pay their drivers for ALL of their time. I guess that makes them a good company. They are out there. Trust me.
