You can run any of the I-Pass lanes but they tack on $20 bucks to your toll in a car, no idea how much they would tack on in a truck. I've run them in my mixer when the I-pass or my concrete truck wasn't working on 88 and 90. I live right off 90. Thanks for the heads up on comcheck availability guys.
No more Prepass for tolls

We had that problem with the NTTA here in Dallas. Our company took our passes away for a short time. The wanted us to take the long way around to make deliveries to our plants. Well naturally that would cut down on the amount of loads we would get each day. So most of us decided to run the tollway anyway.. The company got so tired of paying the fines, that they put the toll passes back in our trucks LOL..

Running the toll lanes without a functional transponder...sure, if you have one with an active accound behind it...but I'm not sure I'd like to be pulled over a little down the road and not have a valid transponder. There's probably a hefty civil penalty for toll evasion or whatever they want to call it.
It could have been less of an issue with some notices before saying "Listen, your EZpass wont work after X date, here's the new procedure". Instead, we get a Qualcomm message at close of business saying "Effective immediately". As much of a PITA this will be for the drivers, I'm not envying the dispatch crews any. Been there, done that, and I'd HATE to be responsible for 20-30 guys running the northeast, and having to keep up with the comchek requests for tolls. This smells very much like a top-down knee-jerk reaction to something, and really isn't a workable solution for the dispatchers/fleet managers or drivers that work and live around areas with a high tollroad concentration. -

Last year, my company had a little screw-up - seems someone "forgot" to fill the money tank that feeds Prepass Inc. The next thing that happened was the transponders on 3500 tractors got turned off with no warning, and we got a QualComm message saying you better have some cash with you for the next 24 to 48 hours until the situation was resolved.
Now that was just a corporate screw-up... I believe it was someone going on vacation, and nobody remembered that there would be consequences to that. It was all taken care of in about a day, and our Prepass has been working ever since. Sounds suspiciously like what happend to ya'll, except the part where things start working again. How's the finances at your outfit? Is this a taste of the future? -
I know my company, KEIM TS, isn't near the size as TMC....but....we do have a working prepass intact. I'm currently in upper NY and it's working fine....well...I think it is....hahahahahaha -
I'm sure EZPass could care less about TMC's business at this point, i'm sure they still have plenty. -
I'm considering having my transponder switched over to my name and just sending receipts in off of that. Not sure how well that would work and it still boils down to being a creditor for TMC. I've been looking around and it seems like more companies than not have the EZPass, so I'm not sure how industry wide this trend is.
