I sent the OM an email suggesting signs be installed in the trucks telling the drivers to turn on the APU before going to sleep.

Cause I woke up and it was hot. We almost DIED. And even worse I thought it was 05' and I was driving for a mega.

I remember those places as a company driver. I didn't get tarp pay because they were paid to tarp it. It took longer for me to fix their garbage than it would have if I'd done it myself. And you can't leave untarped and then do it yourself down the road.

Well I got a 2 pick load going to Detroit... That's where the disappointment begins, I HATE Detroit.

Go to first pick... Load was scheduled to be loaded On 7/26... Today for those of you that may not know is 7/23. Told there is "slim to no chance" I will get loaded today, they dont have the product ready.

Call dispatch, who calls broker, who calls me... Go load 2nd pick then come back to 1st pick.

At 2nd pick the pickup number was off by 2, last digit I had was 2... Supposed to be 4. Get loaded, call 1st pick to let them know I'll be there in 30 to 40 mins, as I was instructed.

Back at 1st pick, same 2 trucks are still on the docks (not a good omen). Told "not sure how long it will be, door 2 is still waiting for same product you need"... This means they are loading the product right off the packaging line.

And to make things worse, the potatoes they are running are mostly big potatoes. So it takes along time to get a pallet of 50 counts, when 95% of the product going into the sorter is 40 counts... I need 3 pallets of 40 counts... And 3 pallets of 50 counts.

So here I sit... Parked against the fence waiting for a phone call that may not come during the next 24 hours... I'm 18 miles from my house, but I just know as soon as I go home I will get the call with a door assignment. So it's looking like maybe a nap is in order.

Well it's only 20 minutes from the house. And since going to the house will get you loaded faster, I'd go to the house.

The other thing that works for me is toorder hot food and have it delivered. It’s like a 99% guarantee that you’ll get a door assignment within 5 minutes of the food getting there.

It's not just you. The Chinese call it "Relax Power."

Martial arts term on how to hit someone like a bull dozer, but applies to many things.

I've often noticed when I think I'm going to get jacked up at a shipper or reciever, I just go " f it", relax, crawl in the bunk. Need a good nap anyway.

Instantly the truck is shaking lol.
