Can someone tell me if .54 cents per mile is a fair rate for team drivers? They also pay $15.00 per pick-up/stop as well as $85.00 if you have to unload the trailer yourself.
Also what type of ground could a good team cover ether in the New England area or a area like the mid west in one day?

Teams can routinely turn 1000 miles per day. This can be done in about 16 to 18 hours of driving, depending on the speed, road conditions, weather, and traffic. For coast to coast running a team could rack up over 1300 miles per day provided they had a 70 to 75 mph truck and kept the truck moving.
My wife and I turn 1162 miles from Camp Hill Pa to Miami Florida in under 20 hours which includes 3 or 4 rest stops along the way.
The ppm is decent as well as the stop pay provided you get at least 5000 miles per week. That is if you are talking about 2 unrelated drivers splitting the money anyway.
Other companies are paying teams any where from the mid .20's cpm (training companies) up to the mid 50's cpm.
Anything less than 5000 miles per week and the team drivers could actually earn more money per week and be better rested turning half the miles at a higher pay rate. -
Yes it is New Century. Do you know anything about them? And thanks for that info.

I know someone that drove for them, and he said their trucks plus management were the best. They have 86in Studios in their T600's, T2000's, T800's, and T660's. Also they have APU's on their fleet as well. The founder of the company is the ex founder of jevic.

They are having difficulties in the current economy as well though. I believe they laid off 14 teams at the beginning of this year.
They do require hazmat and passports last time I checked.
Their equipment is very good from what I have seen.
They bought out several companies in the past few years and have really grown. Not sure if there growth is sustainable in the current economy but if I needed a job (and was looking for one) I would definitely sign on with them.CulliganMan Thanks this.
