Hi there, is there a catalogue or a website where you can research the 2009 prices of all the major truck brands such as Mack, Freightliner, Peterbilt, and Volvo?
The company websites don't list msrp for anything and was wondering how much a volvo vn 780 costs.
Thanks much.

There isn't one. Try the truck paper, custom search, check new only, should bring in a few.
how much for a new vn 78? 90 to 150K, depends on motor, trans and all the other options, list price don't mean anything. -
If you have cash, it can mean the difference between a couple grand for used trucks to well over ten grand for new trucks. A recent search shows Volvo VN780's averaging 125K brand new with KW T660's around there too. Frieghtliner Cascadias are averaging 118K. I have a feeling the Prostars from international are going to be between the Volvo and Freightliner for pricing. All these prices do not include out the door pricing just averages. You can get a good used truck for around 75-80K that includes the warranty.

glider kits save 30,000 with a non emission reman engine and 3 -4 mpg more i know a guy with around 30 freightliners all gliders do the math

How long can those reman motors that they put in the gliders last for.
-
They're more than likely the old pre-emissions engines from before the october 2003 mandates. Meaning they're good for 1 million plus with routine maintinence. Reman doesn't mean it's junk. It's a old engine that's been overhauled and either just like or better than brand new off the assembly line. They're far superior to any engine that's been made since '04.

Not all electronic engines are bad. I don't know exactly when they hit the scene (electronic) and I've only been driving for 9 years but the electronic engines I've driven prior to oct '03 were execellent with regards to fule economy, performance and reliability. Except for my cousin's big cam 400 in a liberty edition '85 kenworth that I drove around the block a few times I've never driven anything mechanical. I believe the '00-'03 engines were the zenith of heavy duty diesel technology as far as economy and performance. From what I've seen the newer engines have a lot of catching up to do with those engines.

What is a good price for a volvo vn 780 and how many miles max should a used truck have and what is optimum mileage?
How many miles can a truck like this do before the engine dies? Or should you trade all trucks in at a certain mileage?
Thanks again guys for your input. -
