I've eaten at the Silver Moon a few times and they have great food. Also if you ever stay at the Love's in Clovis, the little cafe next door has some of the best chicken enchilada's, chips and salsa anywhere.
Mom N Pop restaurants you can fit at.

There isn't much to choose from the entire length of the I-5 on the west coast that I would consider "great" food, but the Rolling Hills Casino in Corning CA has a nightly all you can eat buffet for $18 that's as good as you'll find anywhere including Vegas. Usually it's prime rib as the main entree along with Mexican and Chinese food. All of the sides and desserts are top notch. I haven't tried it, but I think Saturday night is seafood with king crab buffet.
I tried the lobster buffet at Boomtown near Reno a couple months ago and it wasn't good. Lobsters had been steaming for hours and were tough as leather. It didn't seem to bother the 200 Asians that were packed into the place.Intothesunset, COBB2070 and Lepton1 Thank this. -
