    One of my favorites:

“The older I get the smarter my father becomes”

I was Lucky my Father being an entrepreneur all of his life constantly telling me work smarter not harder .

Some of it stuck, much of it I regret brushing off as I was in my Beach Bum state of mind .

Still worked hard Sometimes smart mostly a 90/10 split.

Dad was a 100/100 split. He worked hard at working smart .

First off, there are 30-31 days in a month, not 20, so it would be $1200-$1240 a month. Second, kinda hard to tell people they shouldn’t spend money on food, when you’re spending $8 per day to burn something.....

    jamespmack and Intothesunset Thank this.

LOL. It amazes me how someone can give lectures on spending money, while they’re spending money. Be like giving fitness advice, when you weigh 450......

FlaSwampRat, Intothesunset and rank Thank this.

That's one thing you don't do. let go of your physical fitness. Once you get to 450 like some of the big boys down south, you have problems. Too hot, too cold, too much, too little etc etc etc.

He sounds like Kevin Rutherford - don't eat potatoes. two weeks later he tells you eat potatoes. He say you are lazy if you cant find parking at Walmart. He also comes off as I know it all. This guy would rather down the driver rather than say that these companies need to pay more. Some people would eat healthier and organically but they cant afford it. I can work in a office setting and be obese eating junk food. I think people don't understand is all cost cutting and working smarter not harder doesn't apply to all. I look at how broad and one sided people minds are in trucking. If everyday you wake up and someone always berate you but you don't stand up for yourself sooner or later you will believe your worthless. Everybody driving should be adults and they do whatever makes them happy.

You think so? I made so much money in the spring of 2012, 2013 and 2014 that I could basically coast thru the rest of the year but when holiday freight ramped up those years I made a killing then too. Made the same money then in about 7 months that takes all year long anymore. Since that time the only decent year I've seen has been 2017. I was too aggressive on rates in 2018 and missed a lot of freight I should have been hauling because of it. That's on me of course, even so none of the past 5 years have been much of a boom from my standpoint.
