    Some fella I know has a deleted dpf. I was wondering how this guy is able to renew his registration, he doesn’t live in California but still, don’t they do sniff test and stuff like that? He tells me they put new programs in the engine to hide codes so check engine light doesn’t show. Guy lives in Florida.

    Florida they just send you a letter saying that it's time to renew your tags and you can pay online and they will send you a new stickers

    We used to have emission testing here on our 4 wheelers, could only license for the summer months if it didn't pass, but we voted it out a few years ago.

    They do that here too and you actually save 10 bucks IF you remember to do it. lol
    I would actually save 30 bucks, because I will not deal with the dmv, and prefer to go to the private dmv instead, walk and out in 10 minutes.
    We also have the choice to license for one or two years, which is nice.
    We do have to update our authority every year now, and if you don't do that ahead of tme, buyingyour tags can very easily turn into an all day ordeal, depending on how busy the state is that day.

    So there’s actually no emissions testing conducted on the semi?

    in Cali if you have 3 or more trucks you must do emission testing every two years. You need to keep the report for carb inspection. it has no connection to IRP. IRP will not renew your truck registration if you have EPA04 and older engine(2006 and older). In 2023 the will not renew trucks that don't have SCR/DEF/ EPA07 and older.
