You guys are nuts for leasing. I drove for roehl for a year and a half and spoke with many lease drivers myself. Out of the five I recall speaking to, 3 said they wanted out of the lease, 1 had nothing to say and the 5th said that he makes no more money than a company driver. I did speak with an owner operator who was happy. I hope you guys dont have families. Its amazing no matter how much of a rip off something is, so many people believe it will be different for them. Stupid stupid stupid

I appreciate your input and have talked to many many many Roehl ic drivers. Rest assured however I didn't agree to lease a truck from them today to get rich, in fact the money is not even the driving force behind my choice.
I didn't think the guys name was jim but I could be wrong. I'm just so happy to be getting out of the company driving world. I have been way to unhappy with the company driving nonsense lately. -
You know, I have talked to a lot of L/Os and all most all have been pleased with it. There will be nay-sayers no matter what, be it company or lease. It's what you make of it and why you want to do it. I'm not delusional enough to believe I am going to make tons of money, but I have my own reasons I want to do this.
The truck was nice, only problem I had was the smell of smoke in the truck. Other wise, the down payment was right, the weekly payment was right, and there is quite a bit of warranty left on it. I would put an APU on it eventually. -
Yeah, the opti stop routing crusades have been reason enough to make me grow some grey hair. Not to mention my fleet manager and the fuel milage crusades also. Dan is sending it over to thermo king to get have the apu installed on it and it goes in the shop to get inspected then it will be ready to go. I think the old leasee also had a dog so that will be interesting. I'm looking forward to the freedom and it can't come soon enough.
-
If it's who I think it is, he had a husky. Are you keeping the full-size tarp box? You can mount the APU next to the fuel tank and move the box back so they don't have to cut it. The MPG crusade is driving me nuts. Its part of my reasoning, having a dog is another part. And having say in where I run.
-
Yeah idk. I want the biggest side boxes available. And yes he did have a husky. Dan said something happened to him medically. I talked to him a few times and he seemed really cool. I have an apu on the condo I'm driving now and can't stand the small steel tarp bin because of the apu on it. I would love to keep them both big boxes.

How much experience until Roehl will offer the lease?
