Stuck between Great Dane or utility dry van, your opinion?

    I do like the great dane. But in reefer version usually. A little heft and quality still load 49000 if you short the fuel a bit.

    But in this scenario the vans inspection both of them will decide.

    Another problem is towmotor damage inside the walls near the floor. IF you have floor boards that creak, mark it and get to it underneath to see if it's rotted.

    The more I think about this subject the little details come out. It's nuts. Maybe I am the nut.

    DO ENJOY your experience. If you love a trailer, go get it. Whatever it is.

    DO not put a abusive driver into that tractor ever. He or she will ruin it and break your heart.

    I bought a Great Dane and am happy with it.

    They seem to be built with higher quality standards but I guess it depends on what you're using it for.

    IF the GD is damage free, talk them down and buy it.

    Just a point to consider, it's not chrome, rather stainless steel. The doors and front will last a little longer.

    On the advice of lots of guys here I bought a Dane. No regrets.

    But, we can't see the two trailers you're looking at. Condition means everything.

    Well incase you didn't know it, my dog is a great dane...he is awesome...so for that reason alone get the great dane.

    I'm going with the great dane. That's sight unseen on both. I look at the inside as hard as the outside.

    Utility's seem a bit over priced to me.

    The only downside with all of the Greatdane dryvans and flatbeds trailers is the weight. Most of their trailers are heavier than Utilities, Fontane, Wabash. I have used both Greatdane's dryvans and flatbeds and found them too heavy. For dryvans, Wabash is used a lot because they are 1k+ pounds lighter.

    Great Dane 53 foot reefers like the one I had pushed 15000. But you could load almost 49000 in there, tractors were not as obese as they are today.

    I put up a Great Dane Reefer with Dowdy out of Batesville a few days ago in Texas rest area by photo.

    It was a very good trailer, absolutely no complaints. First class all the way.

    Just had a quick question the trailer having wood towards the end of the trailer, would that still be considered food grade? Like you guys could tell I am new to dryvan, done refeer mainly... long story short just had that question
