Hey guys and gals. As you all know, I am currently employed by Western Express. Over the past three weekends in a row, I have had nothing but problems with dispatch and the planners. Two weekends ago, they sent me to pick up a load and drop it thirty miles away. Dispatch told me that I could go ahead and drop it as soon as I got to the receiver. Wrong. They said it couldn't be dropped until two days later. This past weekend, I told to bobtail from Columbus Ohio to Smyrna Delaware to pick up an empty. When I got to Smyrna, there were no empties. I went to the truck stop and stayed there for the night. I called the place in Smyrna about an empty the next morning and I was told they had two. I went to get one and was told to get a specific trailer. Well, it had a glad hand lock on it. Called breakdown and told them about it. They said they couldn't do anything until Monday morning. So, I had to wait for seven or eight hours for dispatch to find an empty. And this weekend, they sent me to the same place in Smyrna Delaware from Concord NC with a hot load for Walmart. I was able to get an empty but now I'm stuck in Ruther Glen VA waiting for another load after being told to bobtail here from Smyrna. Needless to say, I'm looking for another company and I have found one. Could anyone give me advice on how to resign from Western Express with dignity? I strongly suspect that if I told them what was going on, they would kick me out the truck instantly. Would it be best to just take the truck back to Nashville without warning? What would be the best way to leave without getting abandonment on my DAC report?
Quitting one company for another.

Call in and get routed to Nashville pronto.
Get your things organized out of that tractor. Make sure you are capable of getting yourself home (Possibly shipping or dropping off the tractor items separately at the house)
Park tractor trailer in company nashville yard. Photograph or video time and date stamp in good condition overall with nashville signage idenfying etc. Turn off that phone going in.
You have your permit books, keys cards fuel etc all of that goes to the company in HR if you have one. Hand over one simple note, saying you are gainfully employed elsewhere next week and you are finished with WE. Thank them for teh oppertunity verbally and in writing (BE HAPPY...)
Walk out fixing to get yourself home. Expect calls asking WTF from your dispatchers etc. Tell them enough is enough you are moving on. The time for problem solving has passed between you two.baha, tarmadilo, Trucker61016 and 3 others Thank this. -
I would take home time clean the truck out then tell them and ask where they want you to drop the truck off. Get it in writing if possible.

Well sounds like you are committed. Don't forget your home and how to get there.
Congratulations on a new hire and shower us with stories of your bountiful and profitable hauling sometime this year.
When everything is turned in inside the main building, walk back to your tractor, type out a simple resignation message on qualcomm and send. When it's gone, shut truck down.alds, Trucker61016 and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Sounds like you've already gotten the main hurdles
out of the way
Should be a fairly smooth transition
