I can show 12 mpg on my dash read out any time you want me too. Just pull into a truck stop & reset it, then idle across the parking lot. Park, put it in neutral & take a pic.
I can show you 45 mpg in my '07 Ram Hemi 1500 too.

True, but pix don't lie... right? ;) (I'm still going w/ Glider Kit ... or bobtail / daycab. << that, I can do in MY Mack, easily. 10 speed, non auto anything.)

Most people have no idea about averages.
Some think that if your doing 70 mph from Jacksonville Florida to Miami, you did 70! Don’t think so.

Most people don't recall how to calculate the mean, median, and the mode... either. Right, @Cattleman84 >? ;)

Looks like the truck is off with the key on. He should be getting 100 mpg.

He is showing the leg meter - 1,110 miles averaging 47 mph and 12.1 mpg.

I can easily believe that, but only under certain conditions.
    • All interstate
    • No traffic
    • Minimal wind
    • Driving with the cruise at 60 mph
For July I averaged 8.7 mph with a 320 mile average length of haul, guessing average load weight between 30k and 35k. Running mainly WI, IN, OH but with several trips to the Carolinas and Georgia; so no real mountain driving but not all flat land either. You can also figure on at least 4 trips on 294 each week as well.

I have gotten 11 mpg with 45,000 in the box. I ran from Omaha to Indy. Fueled the night before and reset the trip gauge, ran at 63 mph on the cruise almost the entire way, one stop for my 30 minute break. So no idle, no stop and go, etc.
