Looks like a bird pooped on that green decorations, I'd be careful if I were you.

    Skewer looks pretty good though.

Almost done for today. On the last load. Finally moving, lol. Started at 4:30 this morning.

Got a call from management at Paul's earlier, was disappointed to see me go, but welcomed me to come back any time, said I was a good operator and understood why I was making the switch. Much better reaction than I got at No Hope. But then again, I'm pretty sure now he (driver services manager) was actively trying to get me to hate the road and come replace him so he could retire.

Oh well. Going to be cleaning out my truck on Friday and meeting with the new boss lady for orientation. Still waiting to hear back about flights.

I have some new trucks and trailers on order...new hires will be doing simpler work...so i am training several people who want to be promoted to do heavy haul, so they are ready to move up full time, not just do it part time like now, and also to do the really big loads.
New people will not be moving up for years to come. When people come work for me they tend to stay until they retire. Very first guy i hired is still with me, wrote his letter of resignation a couple years ago, letting me know of his intent to retire 5 years from the day he gave me the letter. A couple more people have given me letters to let me know when their last day will be as well, years ahead, so I can plan for their replacements. My staff are more like family members to me than just some number like most places seem to be.
But thanks for jumping to conclusions!

Came in to work this morning and boss says "Sorry, I gotta send you to the coast today. Pickup trailer is already loaded up"

Imagine cartoons where the cloud of dust shaped like the character is all that remains because of rapid departure. That was me.

Not heartbroken to go where it's 30 degrees cooler and overcast.
