But then later in the day I got a message saying that my dispatcher is going to be on vacation for 2 weeks. I have "Becky" as my dispatcher. I think she's new. Fun times for me. I try to be nicer to women than men so I will try my best to not hurt her feelings when she gives me stupid loads.

"The assigned load is not compatible with my current Hours of Service."

I wish we could program our own quick reply macros into the QC so that stuff like that can be sent quickly and easily.

Well, met MIT today at Richfield. That was cool. Quite a few guys in and out today while we were getting our first few runs bobtailing, some drop and hooks, and driving the trailer around. Think I did decent on the straight back when using the yellow lines as a landmark...having a hard time lining things up perfectly when going for a hookup. Check the kingpin locking jaws...still second guessing myself if they're locked or not, but the trailer didn't fall off on my lap around the yard so day one of driving is in the books without incident. On Sunday night, I wasn't thinking we'd be out on the range and in the truck so quickly. But learning by doing is much more effective than just reading about the stuff. Also, enjoying all the stories.

    dwells40 and MIT Thank this.

I had her a few weeks ago when my dispatcher was on vacation. She is excellent. I was so pleasantly surprised that after a few days I told her so. Turns out she has worked in logistics for I think she told me 14 years and her husband is/was an O/O and she has actively been involved in that operation. You should not have any problems.

Had my first trailer.resxue today, as in "Somebody tore this trailer up. Go get it and take it to get it fixed."

Somebody tore the door off one of ours at Essity in Cherokee. I wonder how many times a day that happens. Not just with us but everybody.

It’s good you are back I heard there is a Midwest shortage of Mikes Hard lemonade. An unexplained supply chain interruption over the past 3 weeks.
