So, Runningman and I enjoyed lunch at the Village Inn (not a gentlemans club to be found in this conservative Nebraska town) on the Fremont strip this afternoon. He was buying since he got a referral bonus when I signed on with FCC. Thanks again, Jason! A privilege to finally be in your presence again and break bread.
Back to the yard and back in my truck with a working APU!!
At about 245 pm my travel agent sends me a load for tomorrow to pickup at our Council Bluffs yard going to Rome GA for Thursday delivery. I got one hour left on my clock for today, I can make it to the TA in that time. I start to bobtail out of the yard and then....the generic engine light comes on (not the "check engine" light) and the needle for the def goes from F to E. I had work done on the truck so I figured the mechanic filled the DEF for me. Yeah right. As soon as I pass the fuel pumps, that needle shot back to E and the low fuel def red light comes on with the alarm. Turn around and get in the fuel line with one truck ahead of me. By the time he finishes, 47 minutes left, by the time I pump, 39 minutes left. I use the GPS to calculate the miles to the TA and 41.4 miles comes up. No escape from Fremont today. Easier to escape Alcatraz!

Picked up a preloaded trailer in Lincoln this morning going out to Ontario, California for Thursday. I’m recapping, so I was only able to run 6.5 hours today, but get good solid hours for the next 6 days.

Delivered that load seven hours late to Rome GA. Not sure what happened to this load. Why I got it late and then run my arse to save it. Should have picked it up on Monday morning but dispatch told me Tuesday morning to deliver Wednesday morning. 984 miles? Ok. Got it to Paducah KY Tues night, but traffic was a mess in Nashville Wed morning, but downtown was ok once clearing the 24/65 split. But accidents dotted I 24 eastbound. Saw four of them. Nickajack Lake was the worst and it wasn't raining! People gotta keep the main thing, THE MAIN THING AND QUIT SCREWING WITH THEIR PHONES!

Almost hit a car in St. Louis as she was in a stopped lane in the I 255 northbound off I 70. Was doing 55 when she decided she wanted to meet in my lane. Hit brakes and narrowly missed hitting her. Gotta call from safety getting an attaboy for avoiding her....and a PROTREAD assignment.
This morning picking up a two stopper in Dalton GA of flooring go to Shell Rock IA and Valley NE for Friday and Saturday before grabbing an east coast load to be determined so I can make a Doctors appt previously twice rescheduled next Friday and a rare three day weekend at the house. Missed my mileage bonuses again but due to colonoscopy and heart cath. This quarter, so far, I have been crushing it.

I never go through the heart of Nashville, take 155 Briley pkwy. and avoid the cluster that is Nashville.

Yes there are too many idiots on the highway these days... I had my - camera record a lady last week in Carson City Nevada pulled right on front of me and I went to the right lane to avoid her coming into the left lane and she continued over to the right lane I had to swerve back to the left to keep from running over her... I observed her & she looked totally oblivious as to what she just did.

    gntorres61 and Crusader66 Thank this.

Delivered in Ontario this morning, my hours were toast, headed over to the Petro. I will roll out about 0200 and pick up a preloaded trailer in Moreno Valley going to Mason City, Iowa for next week.
