Yup. Down thru Baggs. There is a sad little town. About all there is there is a inconvenience store and a couple bars. Only thing to do there for fun is work and drink.
But at this point you are avoiding the toll on matter of principle, not because its cheaper.
This is what they are counting on. That the actual cost in longer miles and more time will not be worth going around and trucks will just pay up.
WyDOT: $116 is I-80 toll threshold for trucks

Probably, but I choose my freight.
I can suddenly lose interest in crossing. -
The morons aren't thinking at all, what they would be doing is forcing traffic down thru Denver and over 70, the difference in miles is the drop to Denver on I-76, mileage from Denver to SLC is virtually the same either I-70 or up to I-80. The current revenue gained from trucks crossing I-80 would be lost almost altogether, and the revenue of normal (as it is now) would go to CO and UT.
Once again GENIOUS HARD AT WORK....to coin a phrase..GIMME A BREAK! (or is that brake?)
Besides, in the winter when the storms hit..I70 taint much worse than those winds around Elk Mountain! -
CO is in no way shape or form able to handle the traffic.
They have a severe lack of truck stops on 70 already, and their roads suck worse than ours.
Not to mention that Denver traffic BLOWS most of the time due to 70's poor design.otherhalftw and Roadmedic Thank this. -
Taking 80 thru WY versus 70 thru CO.
70 is 127 miles farther and 3 hrs longer. -
But at 120$ toll, you won't be spending that for the 127 miles of fuel...almost a break even true when you figure the time involved. But still the morons aren't listening, they think they have found the perfect pot of gold to steal from trucks and large companies! -
They will probably set the toll for the cars at 5.00 and stick it to the trucks.
otherhalftw Thanks this. -
Cross state cars is $12.
Otherhalf that was using 76 to 70. -
Their reasoning behind hitting the trucks so hard is that trucks are 4000 times harder on a road than the average car.
