Thanks. I don't think there was any ill-intent to the question, it sounded fair and probably true. A lot of people hope to read all the way through this thread and see someone else ride off into the sunset, that with the right attitude and good work ethic that there is no bounds to what can be done in this business. I still have hope, but there are certain realities to trucking right now that will keep that boundless dream in check.

I did do it, and I believe I am successful at it. The numbers still say that me and my truck will share a little over 55k this first year. This really isn't too bad at all. If I seem bummed it is because the second part of the dream, building a trucking empire, doesn't seem likely lol. One man, One truck is still the most optimal way to run.

M... I would agree Rob, nor anyone else, "owes" anyone anything. And I will say Rob.... well said. Thing is though M...., just because this is a "virtual" place we all hang out, it doesn't mean the people here don't develop real friendships even outside this forum, and there are many here who will attest to that.

It's not an "owing" thing I don't think. What I do think is that once you become friends on more than a virtual level, you actually do "care" what happens in your friend's world and ask. Perhaps Mr Green, who's yet made only the one post, but has read the first 166 pages, was making an honest enough question. After all, anyone reading 1660 posts in one sitting can't help but be curious when he observes something and he was at least intrigued to have kept reading. Just an observation.

Rob, what are ya doin' on the fine Father's Day? I'm stuck in Te-has.

Oh heck man. Happy Father's Day to you Clay!

I'm lucky enough to be home. I have my son with me, we went to Golden Corral for dinner. My girls are at my sister's in FL hanging with their cousins for a couple weeks and having a blast, but they called :biggrin_25520:

I'll be headed out around 4am though.

    Thaaat's TrUCKING!

Cool deal. Sounds like you two are having fun. You probably read about my ordeals this week with repairs, tow hooks, and such on the other thread.... so goes the reason I'm not home, but I'll get there Tues/Wed. Prolly stay home a few days after that plus I have some work on the truck I want to do. As you say: "Thaaat's TrUCKING!" LMAO.

Think I'm going to check out this diner across the way for some grub. Maybe they'll have refreshments. :yes2557:

Does anyone ever contact PC-Miler about all these discrepancies? If they know about them then they "could" fix them, otherwise nothing will change.

What's up PP. I would have you as my pigmently challenged brother from another mother anyday. Glad to see things are still going well for you. In these tough times $24,000 for three months of busting ##### is not bad at all. While coming up on the learning curve, and making a mistake or two along the way, you've still managed to keep your head above water. For that I take my hat off to you.

I have a question for you! On your spread sheet, What formula are you using to calculate your miles (all miles vs trip miles)? And how do you factor in FSC. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Brutha!

I don't know how familiar you are with excel, but all the math has to be done in a straight line so it looks confusing.

I can send you the sheet to play with if you want, but the load pay on mine is set by the weight of the load times the pay per ton.

Anyway, I type in the deadhead miles and trip miles, the next cell adds those together. Then I type in the load pay. FSC is (fsc x load pay)+(load pay). I don't figure the FSC, it is given to me and I usually don't get one.

    So now it gets ugly:
    Trip miles

    ((fsc x load pay)+(load pay))/ trip miles

    ((fsc x load pay)+(load pay))/ all miles

Then (.9 x ((fsc x load pay)+(load pay)))/ all miles gives me the rate after broker.

Well, you asked! Anyway you don't type the words in, you substitute the cell numbers that those items are in. Ex. =(H2+(J2*H2))/F2

Well Why didn't you just say that in the first place. It's all clear to me now......

Clear as the Mississippi river.:biggrin_2553: LOL:biggrin_25525:
