piece of junk 2013 KW T680. i really hate this truck

since the accident i have been given a 2013 T680 with an earlier generation paccar engine. this truck had spun a rod bearing at 300K (roughly) and has a newly re-manufactured paccar MX13 (older generation though). apparently rated at 450 HP. i say apparently because this thing has absolutely no low end power. my assigned and now damaged truck would pull just fine at 1,100-1,200 rpm with a loaded trailer on flat and level. this thing just sits there. i have one particularly steep hill that i pull with 42K of milk i could pull that hill in 4LO all day long no problem. this piece of crap truck, drop it into 4LO, drop it into 3LO, even go as low as 2LO..... if the rpms arent up forget it..... it will NOT pull. i had to start over every time on that hill so far..... absolute total piece of trash. i really cannot understand why my boss kept this piece of junk when we had two older peterbilt 386's with C15 acerts that were far more effective trucks. sure they were 2006's BUT they worked. this t680 is completely useless. im just going to pull that hill the entire way in 3rd gear hammer down. i am grateful they have kept me working through all of this, but give me a truck that works.

they had a full time driver quit because this truck is such a turd.

 

tomorrow i am going to see about driving 61, its a great old international eagle has a large sleeper, but i can deal with that at all of my farms but one. it has a wonderful old cat that runs fantastic.

 

i really would take a 1996 international..... anything but this truck. i does not matter what it looks like..... if it wont effectively do the job and i have to back down the hill then it's useless to me.

 

i drove a worn out pete 386 with 700K on it when i started. it looked beat, but it got the job done without fail.

 

i had to roll back down the hill and start over..... if i have to drive this piece of crap tomorrow im going to run the entire hill in 3rd screaming up the hill at 1,800 RPM.
