chcrow, I know what you're talking about with Keith. The owner of the company I was with before JCT had the same mentality, so it didn't bother me. Once you're off his board, it will improve a bit. And loading all day and driving all night: just a guess: EuroFresh? Spend 8-12 hours loading, get done loading at 9-10pm and be expected to drive all night to be in LA first thing the next morning, then Sparks the following morning? There are ways to handle that load. I learned the hard way. I'm going to shoot you a PM. I'm not very available until next week. My mom passed on Sunday and I'm in Oregon on my way home for the funeral. Then I've got some serious making up to do.

It really depends on the person some people want to get a truck with around 400,000 cuz most claim that is when the truck is running it's best. Remember that most these trucks can run over a million miles before you need to do an inframe or overhaul. Just because you have a new truck doesn't mean you'll be worry free. We've got plenty of drivers with new trucks already in the shop once every other week. It really depends on your luck when you pick out the truck

they go over all that in orientation but if you wanna know now, the trip has to be turned in by the pickup time on wednesday. pay day is the following thursday. if you are late you have two options, you have till midnight of wednesday to do trippak scan or you can use 1 of your 10 late trips and have til saturday to scan it.

yes i know you want to run legal. as far as i know of, the many owner ops i know of, there are hardly anyone that isn't creative in some way. As far as you being a lease op right now and have to follow the company loads somewhat, if you start turning down loads that you don't want just cause you want to run legal, forget them racking you up with miles anymore. You'll be getting the three days to do 1200 mile crap.. Plus with us being creative, we're not being any more dangerous then the people that stress on keeping their logs legal. I still only avg 700 miles a day, one load you run hard the next one your rest up and then do it all over again. It's just part of making money any way you can out here with all the DOT regulations. I know when I get tired so yea, i'm not going to push myself over the limits!!

I don't like keith too. He looks down on drivers. I mean come on, what has he done with his life - worked as driver and dispatcher for 27 years, so what? I've traveled the world, speak 4 languages, have bachelors degree in economics , owned my own trucking company for last 5 years, I don't feel like he has anything on me. I'm not gonna allow him speak down on me. Very first week he made my blood boil, I was gonna leave my truck and go home. I'm good now though- off his board. He's mice to me now too

Well he's not that bad, he just like things done his way or the highway. I remember that my trainer and him got into it when I first started cuz we were in cali and he wanted us to get to sapulpa in one day. So my trainer made a smart ### remark and said how you expect to train when you want us to basically run team and he also told him that we're not robots we can't turn sleep on and off as we please. So when we got to sapulpa asap they both got outside and started arguing away. I was like whoa. lol, but i'm glad that he wasn't my DM even though he does give you alot of miles.

I have read almost every page in this topic.I am supposed to go to orientation on Monday June 29th.However I don't think I am going to make it.I have been stuck in New York for 4 days with no load.I think my biggest mistake was trying to make my unemployed gap very small.I hate sitting around.I just wanna go somewhere. My main concern I see that I might have is the HOS discussion.I know people can make a mistake in their logs.I don't want to run illegal.I am looking forward to running hard this sitting around crap is for turtles and snakes.

You will find satisfied and dissatisfied drivers at every carrier. The best drivers are able to learn a new system, adapt to a new environment, and excel despite the hurdles placed in front of them by others.

Life is what YOU make of it regardless of the carrier you currently work for.
