The problem is this lifestyle most women dont want it. Living in a truck for 6-8 weeks at a time. It can get nasty sometimes, when u got to go go go . women are more logical than us men and wont put up with the stuff that we do. Maybe thats what this industryvl is missing tho. For women to come in and use their brains, maybe it will help us get the respect and benefits that we all deserve.
Scoot 1971, uncleal13, BoyWander and 3 others Thank this. -
Nope women just aint willing to do the hard dirty work this industry requires but they sure as heck want the same pay. Not gonna get us to much respect when you see them bloody tampons littering our nice truckstopsCorsairFanboy, Texas_hwy_287, mitmaks and 1 other person Thank this.

This is tongue in cheek right? A little sarcasm? You can't possibly think that.Texas_hwy_287, classic_150, Lepton1 and 6 others Thank this.

With all respect, women can get the truck from point A to point B no problem, but when it comes to chaining up, or even minor repairs on truck or trailer, this is where most women truckers fall flat.

I was thinking about asking this question to Mr @D.Tibbitt but I don’t know if I really want an answer.Texas_hwy_287, sevenmph, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this.

I can show you women that chain up regularly, sometimes several times in a days time, driving where 90% of men or better, won't. even think about.
I am not saying all of them, but women can and do handle the job.Josey Wales, Lepton1, BoyWander and 5 others Thank this. -
I was saying women can help turn this industry around is what i meant . it will help all of us get the respect we deserve if they notice more women out here. I think its better for all of us
-
I don’t think that will be the end result.
This industry is no different then let’s say the Military, electrical pole work, or other dangerous jobs that men seem to dominate.
Women can do this job just as good as men it’s the lifestyle that puts them off.
While men are more capable of putting their feelings for the family on the back burner to go out and bring food to the table women are the opposite.
Now don’t let this fool you into thinking there are no exceptions to the rule, I know many women that can run around most of these drivers but speak to them about being away from family for weeks at a time and you’ll get the same answer from everyone.FlaSwampRat and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
