With the massive amount of Mexicans that haul those trash cans in Houston I would have to say you would probably starve

There are some good reviews about intermodal trucking in Houston. I don't know if the majority
    of drivers are Mexicans tho.

Yeah maybe I couldn’t tell you nothing about it but judging by what they will haul oversized freight for out of Houston I can tell you from years of experience they are cut throats

I don’t know any container companies but if your set on living in Houston I’m sure there are great jobs like Walmart private fleet or air products if you don’t mind getting in to tanker ! We have a terminal in Laporte air Products that is and it’s probaly a 6 figure a year job with great benefits

I’m sure you can do well in Houston if you do your research before jumping into a job and try an find a place to live outside the city because of the crime! I wouldn’t recommend containers because the container companies will hire anyone with a pulse which usually means a dead end job ! But that’s just my opinion. No I don’t live in Houston I’ve just spent years running in and out of the many ports hauling oversized loads

Being honest the reason why I thought hauling containers is that I want to go back to school finish my master. Been told that hauling containers can start early in the morning like 3-4 am and be home around 2-3 pl wich would be a perfect schedule for me. Hopefully I ll find something I am looking for

I live and drive in Houston. 95% intermodals here are Mexican drivers and their trucks are death traps. But good luck....
