What happens if I just ignore that... It's my responsibility is something goes wrong right? And it usually won't be just me that has to deal with any problems from whatever comes loose. Other people driving next to me might be involved in it and not by a choice of thier own right?
It isn't just "you" you need to worry about. It's not even worth considering that it might be a bad idea? -
So, what have you been doing for 20+ years without an issue? -

Well, just using the tip adds some pressure. I could probably just do that, even though it wasn't designed to be used that way. As long as I drive like a geriatric there won't be any problems. Could probably do that for 20 years and squeak by.
Thy putting just the hook tip on a lowboy frame and think about that. That's what I'm talking about with the winch and strap -
