Only did 90 rounds. My goal was to zero the new sights and get a feel for it. I had another 90 round box in my bag just in case, but didn't get to it. I was sighting in with 2x3 shot groups on different targets and running the sheet back to study and mark each time. Kind of tedious, but easier to find the new holes and adjust.

That's an excellent looking target for a sub compact, even with the practice. I doubt I could do that well with my full frame .40 S&W cop gun. I need to get to the range more.

40 is too snappy of a round for a short barrel gun to group tight. Theres just so much muzzle velocity, its gonna nose up a bunch more than a 9 and you need tripod forearms to stay locked on.

Try a 6" 1911 in 9mm.. Or a large frame 22 revolver. So easy to look like a pro.

Put a decent load on today. Had to take my 4x4 dunnage out from under the stuff on bottom to get the stuff in front to clear the ceiling.

    (prepare for a long post)

Hope I can say this in a way that makes sense...

Do you remember when you were young, like 17-18, right smack in the middle of the idiot stage, trying to be cool to your stupid friends, vying for attention from some stupid girl hoping that she likes you, and all the rest of the stupid things we all did? And when you mess up, there’s this voice in your head that plays the stupid act over and over again and tells you how stupid you are. Well, that voice is the Ultimate version of you. On a scale of 1-10, he’s an 11 minimum.

My dad was physically very strong. Very fast. Physically, the strongest man I knew when I was a kid. But he abandoned his wife and kids. So, physical strength really doesn’t mean anything, does it? In order to be “strong,” you have to be strong all over.

When I started driving, my goal wasn’t to get a job, my goal was to be a good driver. Many think that holding a steering wheel and driving down the highway means they’re a good driver. There’s so much more to Trucking than holding a steering wheel.

When I got into motorcycles, the goal wasn’t to ride around and bar hop and make a bunch of noise at traffic lights, the goal was to be a good rider. So many times you see guys riding in groups, get out in traffic and act like A Holes and cut off cars and flip people off. That’s not a good rider. The most amazing thing? The little kids. 2 and 3 year olds will idolize you. Be that good rider for the kids.

I got my CCW a couple years ago. The goal wasn’t to be some gun toting A Hole that walks around daring people to try him. You don’t carry a gun to be Judge Dredd. The goal is to be a decent RESPONSIBLE member of society. That meant that I had to understand fully the Law. On the PD, we had to QUALIFY. We had to qualify as to fitness. To drive the car. To carry the sidearm.

So, when I go shooting, I’m not shooting to compete against others. First I need to get consistent. Then improve. Then get consistent. Then improve. I would like to try the 3 gun because I do not think that I can run and gun efficiently anymore.

“Why Six? What to you have to prove?”

Improve. I am not yet the Ultimate Six. When you’re young, you learn the physical stuff. When you get older, you learn the more important things. Patience, kindness, honor, public appearance, speaking, character, hospitality and appreciation. 3DD95F36-297E-4C56-B83C-45CC2EF12B0B.jpeg
